I've joined the blogging world. --Engage!
Many have seen my posts on other people's blogs (and that is not going to stop), but a lot of those tid-bits are actually based on a lot of forethought way before I read that person's original posting. These are my thoughts and deserver a home of their own. Sometimes I'll reference my comments on other blogs, and sometimes I'll post my own thinking.

Getting Married (3 Special Albums!)
The wedding aboard the Yankee Clipper
We were married on January 12, 2004 aboard the Grenada registered ship, Yankee Clipper part of the Windjammer fleet.
The pre- and post-wedding traveling and fun.
We went from Grenada along the entire Stretch of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and back again. Before we started though we had 3 days on Grenada itself.
Celebrations back in the states
We had to celebrate with family and friends when we got home to the States.

DUX2003 Case Study
Webtop: Realities in designing a web-application platform
Recently, my former team at Documentum and I had the opportunity to publish our 2 year experience designing the latest rendition of the web-based software for the Documentum content management platform. A daunting, challenging, fun, and educational experience. Being inspired by the Design Forum of the previous year at CHI2002, we wanted to take part in this year's special conference. Go to the site linked above and see our case study, listed under my name, and take a look. I want to thank my great co-workers at Documentum who worked really hard on this case study: Lisa Krenzelok & Julian Orr.

My article on Boxes and Arrows
HTML's Time is Over; Let's Move On
In February I was priviledged to have my own article published on Boxes and Arrows (listed below). This article is a "Big Idea" in process about what has to happen for web-apps or more importantly thin applications to really be usable and more importantly good user experiences. The article was provacative enough to have spawned a discussion that is now over 100 messages long (a B&A record). The success of the discussion has inspired me to create an e-mail list called webGUI.

Sites Important To Me
IxDG: The Interaction Design Group
I am in the steering committee of this new organization to creating a home for Interaction Designers. Go to the site to learn more and join in on the discussion if you feel that the current list of organizations don't fit your needs.

Brit Tzedek v'Shalom: The Jewish Alliance for Justice and Peace
We as American Jews have to do what we know is right and use our political and economic influence towards pushing Israel towards a peaceful and just solution between themselves and the Palestinian people--at first, and then the Arab world. The 7 principles of Brit Tzedek are those that I feel I can stand for and be proud of.

Boxes and Arrows
This web magazine is the best I've seen for Information Architects, Interaction Designers, Experience Designers, and Usability experts.

Capoeira Angola Palmares
Capoeira is the greatest martial art ever, combining music, song, dance and fight. Palmares was my home in NYC for capoeira, Mestre Nô & Mestre Ombrinho my teachers.

MoveOn.org
This is one of the most influential grassroots leftist organizations I have ever experienced. They are one of our best chances to defeating George Bush and the Republican agenda of fear for the use of greed. In this regard, I encourage everyone to buy the latest CD by Dan Bern and the International Jewish Band Conspiracy (IJBC) called My Country: II with the seasonally appropriate song "Bush Must Be Defeated" (lyrics).

AIGA: Experience Design
Experience Design is in my mind a philosophy of creating a wholistic experience for everyone who is associated with digital interactive media.

Re-evaluation Counseling (RC)
RC or Co-counseling is the best thing that I have found for both individual growth (getting the life you want), and for world wide change that truly matters.

The Asilomar Institute for Information Architecture (AIfIA)
This is a new organization that I joined. I hope this organization helps promote IA throughout the business community and creates a community and set of resources for Information Architects everywhere.
